Trying To Conceive Ups And Downs
Trying to conceive TTC is a exciting time in every marriage. Obviously you are ready, you have planed for it, you are excited and anxious for that positive pregnancy test.
But what happens when after months of trying nothing happens? What could cause the delay? How long is too long?
There are many things in life that can affect how quickly you conceive and how soon your dream comes true. Weather you are trying for your first child, second or third, it never is the same.
Speaking from experience, when we started trying for our first child it only took about month and a half for the positive test. Now this doesn’t guarantee that trying for the second it will take only a month or two.
Stress can affect your fertility a lot. When you feel like things are just not working out how you want them, and you put your body trough emotional stress it backfires on you.
Weight loss or weight gain can affect your body and how it changes it can affect your monthly cycle and sometimes mess things up for you.
Monitoring your monthly cycle is not always a good predictor of your most fertile days of the month. Why? Well lets face it there are months when things get late, or sooner than expected, there are false alarm months when things don’t happened at all.
Than there is that temperature thing. To be honest I never understood it. I know there is a special thermometer for it, and that you have to keep a chart of your body temperature, but since I don’t understand it I’m not going to talk about it!
Health problems, many medications also can affect your fertility. They say drinking, smoking and so on can be a fact too which can slow your chances of fast conception.
And than there is the age thing. I never felt before that age would be a problem in any women’s life. I know many who were able to conceive with no problems in their late thirties and forties. Does age really affect the fertility that much?
I don’t know, I can say in early 20’s it was so easy to get pregnant. Maybe I was just more lucky than I even expected…How do I feel now in my late 20’s? Well it seems things may have slowed down a bit, but still no mayor concerns…just usual worrying and unnecessary stress!
Stress definitely can affect things and life. Weight loss too. As for temperature, I don’t know, still…as I’ve said before I have never understood it. When it comes to health, there is no problems at all. No medications and no drinking or smoking. Now there is still that age thing LOL and that may be starting to kick in somehow!
Tell me: When you were trying to conceive with your #1 #2 #3 and so on, how long before the positive pregnancy test?

I know it’s really stressful and worrisome. I hope it doesn’t take too long for you.
Thank you
I hope so too. One can never know what is to come that is for sure!
I was very lucky with both boys. Cole we conceived on our honey moon almost 9 mo to the day is his birthday.
And Caden with in about 3 months. We were really blessed with how quick it was, now the pregnancy part was not easy but you take what you get I guess.
Good luck sweetie I’ll have you in my prayers!
Thank you
I don’t know what to expect with the next pregnancy, hoping it will be as easy going as the first one was!
I guess I’m a fertile mertile because my first pregnancy occurred WITH protection. My 2nd pregnancy was a surprise.. My 3rd pregnancy happened during our 2nd month of trying and our 4th pregnancy was again, a one time unprotected surprise. I am now practicing abstinence until I reach menopause or until my husband heads in for the vasectomy…whichever happens first. LOL
Are you trying to conceive right now?
LOL which do you think will happen first LOL knowing my hubby I would hit menopause ten times before I would be able to talk him into vasectomy!
We have gone over this many times in the past two years and to tell you the truth we have been ready for two years, but never really was committed to the whole thing LOL now, it’s when it happens YAY but I love to stress about everything (LOL not love it intentionally) so we’ll see how long it actually takes!
It only took my hub and I three tries…I was convinced it would take forever.
Thank you for visiting
love new readers!
I did conceive fast with my daughter
And how cool is that, three tries
it’s been a year and a half for us this second time around. I’m getting older and there’s been lots of stress. after some basic testing has been done, it’s proven to me that stress is a huge factor. try to relax as much as you can
Stress is definitely present now, and it sure doesn’t help. But I’ll definitely take your advice and try to relax as much as possible!
Love to have new visitors
BTW thank you for stopping by
I would like to add some short information about temperature. During ovulation, the basal body temperature increases by so little, but it is there. Basal body temperature is your temperature during rest. This method takes a bit of a trial and error, but for women who are sensitive to the temperature changes, this method could be a lot of help.
